    Civil Litigation Attorney

    $110K - $150K

    Summary

    Reese Law Group is a Plaintiff's law firm located in Carlsbad, CA (San Diego County) that specializes in Insurance Subrogation. We have 30 years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies, working to maximize their recovery and minimize their exposure.

    RLG is seeking a highly motivated attorney with a minimum of 1 year of civil litigation experience. The Civil Litigation Associate will be responsible for handling day-to-day litigation matters, including drafting motions and conducting legal research. The Civil Litigation Associate will also be required to conduct examinations and appear in court on behalf of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer to be exposed to challenging work from top-tier clients, while being supported by a highly skilled and experienced team.

    An ideal candidate is a self-starter who has strong organizational skills, and possesses zeal for a fast-paced, but collegial environment. Candidates should also have civil litigation experience, specifically in discovery practice, motion writing, taking/defending depositions, legal research and writing, and trial experience. Excellent oral advocacy skills are required.

    Reese Law Group does not require its attorneys to meet a quota of billable hours or "time-keep". Attorney time and productivity is monitored and measured by the firm in a stress-free and production-based manner.

    Candidates must be licensed in California.

    Responsibilities

    · Manage cases at all stages of litigation from pre-suit through judgment and develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases.

    · Utilize knowledge of the law and experience to provide effective and accurate legal advice on pertinent legal matters.

    · Manage a hearing calendar and comply with strict court and client deadlines.

    · Read, analyze, and summarize legal documents and present interpretations to fellow and/or supervisory attorneys, clients, courts and opposing counsel.

    · Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as pre-suit and post judgment accounts.

    · Identify legal issues and recommend appropriate actions directly to clients.

    · Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    · Effectively, and timely respond to direction/instruction from supervisors, peers, subordinates, clients, and management.

    · Satisfy MCLE requirements on an ongoing basis.

    · Report to work in a regular and timely manner.

    · Maintain a regular presence in the office and function as a resource for fellow attorneys and support staff such as paralegals, administrative assistants, collectors, and subrogation specialists.

    · Other duties assigned.

    Qualifications

    · Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Must have and be able to maintain a current law license and good standing with the State Bar of California.

    · A minimum of 1 year of previous experience in civil litigation is necessary and knowledge of Subrogation is preferred.

    · Strong understanding of California civil law and legal procedures.

    · Experience drafting motions and conducting legal research.

    · Experience conducting examinations for discovery and appearing in court.

    · Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

    · Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and effectively in both verbal and written format.

    · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    · Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    · General Ability to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other computer software programs in an efficient manner, and to search for help in the use of such programs independently via the internet.

    · Understand and conform to California professional rules of conduct.

    · Exhibit a professional demeanor and appearance.

    · Work collaboratively in a positive manner with co-workers and others outside the firm.

    Scheduling Requirements

    · Must be able to work a normal M-F schedule on site.

    · This position is domiciled at the offices of Reese Law Group, in Carlsbad, CA.

    Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
