Description
Operates process equipment, reactors, and other manufacturing equipment within a production plant. Responsibilities may include operating a computerized control system, preparing and loading materials, and performing appropriate quality control tests. Reactor Operator is a standalone hourly classification within the production function within a plant.

Rotating shift every 4 weeks Monday - Friday either 6am to 2:30pm or 2pm to 10:30pm OR 10pm to 6:30am Sunday-Friday

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and will impact where actual compensation may fall within the stated wage range.

The wage range listed for this role takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.


As a VEVRAA Federal Contractor, Sherwin-Williams requests state and local employment services delivery systems to provide priority referral of Protected Veterans.


  • Operates a reactor utilizing a computerized control system to ensure the proper chemical reactions and requirements occur; follows appropriate batch ticket and operational procedures.
  • Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads raw materials and other components required for the production process; will also utilize a computerized or automatic process to perform tasks.
  • Monitors and adjusts gauges, valves, switches, pumps, and other components according to production requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding materials, workinprogress, finished goods, and other operations to ensure records and actions are accurate.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
  • Communicates with maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
  • Prepares and/or performs quality control analysis, testing, and review to ensure adherence to standards and parameters.
  • May operate a variety of computerized, manual, and mechanical equipment to mix, fill, unload, label, pack, and store workingprogress and finished goods.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Have at least two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery
