The Role

The Senior Director of Cybersecurity AI Strategy is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, executing, and governing the enterprise strategy for securing GenAI and Agentic AI technologies, platforms, and products. This leader ensures the organization can innovate with GAI safely, responsibly, and at scale, while proactively managing emerging security, privacy, regulatory, and ethical risks.

This role operates at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, cloud platforms, products, governance, and business strategy, serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and a key enabler of enterprise AI secure adoption.

You possess a strong track record of leading large-scale cybersecurity and transformation efforts, driving measurable outcomes that elevate both business and security objectives.

As an evangelist for AI Security, you champion the adoption of industry-leading standards and best practices, fostering a culture where innovation is always paired with robust security. Your communication skills enable you to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, from executive leadership to technical teams. Your strategic mindset, analytical prowess makes you a trusted advisor and catalyst for change. You thrive in dynamic environments, leading cross-functional teams and ensuring that security remains a foundational pillar in AI.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan, develop, and drive the implementation of a comprehensive Cyber AI strategy, integrating security across all corporate and product domains.
  • Manage a niche/specialized AI cyber security team.
  • Lead strategic collaboration with SVP/EVP-level executives to define and advance Synopsys' AI Security agenda.
  • Establish and communicate an enterprise-wide AI Security vision, ensuring security is embedded in all AI initiatives and products.
  • Drive strategic alignment of AI Security efforts across business units, product teams, and corporate functions.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute cybersecurity process optimization initiatives leveraging automation, AI, orchestration, and data‑driven insights to reduce manual workload, accelerate control adoption, and improve operational consistency across the enterprise.
  • Drive end‑to‑end improvements across core cybersecurity workflows by standardizing processes, eliminating redundancies, and implementing scalable, repeatable patterns that enhance efficiency and reduce operational friction.
  • Serve as the organization's AI Security Evangelist, promoting awareness and continuous improvement of best practices and standards.
  • Champion the development and adoption of industry-leading AI Security frameworks, regulatory compliance, and security patterns.
  • Measure program effectiveness through KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Build and develop the team and a community of AI security champions.
  • Drive risk management for AI, define control requirements, and integrate AI risk into enterprise and product processes.
  • Institutionalize AI governance policies, standards, control objectives, and review processes.

  • Mentor and develop the next generation of AI Security experts and leaders, advancing Synopsys' legacy of excellence.

What You'll Need

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with senior leadership experience at enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated experience securing cloud, SaaS, and data‑driven platforms.
  • Strong understanding of GenAI and ML concepts, including, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, MCP
  • Strong knowledge of AI security threats (e.g., adversarial ML, model inversion, data poisoning), secure architecture, threat modeling, and incident response.
  • Strong knowledge of Security Concepts (e.g. Data Security and Privacy, Security Engineering, Opensource Software Security and Architecture, Security Assurance).
  • Experience with secure product development lifecycles.
  • Exceptional strategic leadership skills, influencing executive stakeholders and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks and integrating with legal/privacy and engineering processes.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
