Duties:


  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Logistics Section (LS).
  • Prepares economic analysis and/or market survey on equipment to determine if new or different equipment can be effectively used in activity operations and be more cost effective than current methods.
  • Evaluates and/or develops, reviews, records, and revises training materials IAW specific learning objectives following all technical and doctrinal publications.
  • Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies a variety of guidelines that impact planning and daytoday logistics operations.
  • Manages and tracks the expenditure of funds for procurement, storage, and transport of program materiel assets.
  • Assures proper staffing for full continuity of operations in any emergency or exercise situation.
  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.

  • You must be a US Citizen or US National.
  • Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of oneyear probationary period, unless previously served.
  • Subject to oneyear supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable. New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.
  • Direct Deposit: Per Public Law all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
  • Must be available on a 24hour basis, including weekends, yearround.
  • The duty station for a remote designation is the selectee's home and must be established within the listed counties prior to start date.

Qualifications:


  • Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL:Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates:

  • Ensure all logistics activities associated with the management and deployment of assets (supplies and equipment) fully comply with legal and regulatory requirements, meet customer needs.
  • Coordinates the procurement and manages storage, and transport of assets such as vaccines, disinfectants, antiviral, therapeutic products, personal protective equipment, and other supplies and equipment.
  • Develops and refines plans for transporting inventories.
  • Manages and tracks the expenditure of funds for procurement, storage, and transport of program materiel assets.
  • Manages a comprehensive quality assurance program through onsite inspections of government and contractor owned partner facilities.
  • Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for program functional areas.

Note:
There is no education substitution for this grade level.

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position does not have an education qualification requirement.


Additional information:


  • First time hires to the federal government normally start at the lowest rate of the salary range for the grade selected.
  • Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. Any travel, transportation, and relocation expense associated with reporting for duty will be the responsibility of the selected employee.

Worksite Information:This is a 100% remote position that must be located within the cities and/or counties listed in the vacancy announcement. The duty station for a remote designation is the selectee's home and must be established within the defined geographic options prior to start date. The selectee is not required to regularly work from a government facility however, the option may be available.
