The
Upholstery Team Member, under immediate supervision, learns and gains competency upholstering airplane interiors according to customer specifications and Duncan Aviation approved procedures in a safe and organized work area.

Essential Job Functions

  • With immediate supervision, prepares seats for upholstering by stripping all foam and covers using various hand tools according to standard operating procedures.
  • With immediate supervision, disassembles, prepares, repairs, recovers and reassembles seats, miscellaneous seat parts, flatwork including mínimal sewing, and accessories for paint.
  • With immediate supervision, cleans glue off panels and strips materials from parts.
  • With immediate supervision, foams small chair parts (i.e. armrests, headrests, shells, etc.).
  • With immediate supervision researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, and other work order related documents supporting the squawks and expected hours).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management.

Job Specific Requirements

Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified

Physical:Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.; reads small print; hearing sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates working in confined spaces; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting

Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments


Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Six to twelve months related experience required
