    ** Team Leader - Manufacturing**

    **Description**

    ****Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.**

    **Provides leadership to ensure team members demonstrate appropriate work skills, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.**

    **Regularly monitors each team members adherence to safe work practices and Companys safety policies as well as all quality practices and initiatives.**

    **Meets with group leaders to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjusts work activities accordingly.**

    **Prepares team member schedules and authorizes absences or overtime in order to meet work requirements.**

    **Communicates effectively both verbally and in written form.**

    **Serves as contact person for other Group and Team Leaders to answer questions or concerns affecting multiple departments.**

    **Relays and shares information with team members and other departments in a timely manner.**

    **Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.**

    **Provides positive and negative feedback to team members both verbally and in writing as necessary.**

    **Documents feedback through Confirmation of Conversations (COC) form.**

    **Conducts annual performance reviews for team members effectively and timely.**

    **Ensures team members receive appropriate training necessary to meet and exceed job expectations.**

    **Coaches team members requiring additional support and training.**

    **Assists team members wanting to proceed to the next level of job pay range.**

    **Monitors production to ensure adherence to quality standards.**

    **Reinforces the use of work instructions and other documentation to ensure that quality standards for fit, function and appearance are met every time.**

    **Works with newly hired and/or transferred team members to ensure they thoroughly understand and properly perform their job duties in accordance with the work instructions.**

    **Spends a reasonable percentage of time focused on process improvement**

    **Utilizes production management tools such as pitch charts and other visual aides to monitor processes.**

    **Participates in ongoing training and other company programs to develop leadership and job skills when available.**

    **Works side by side with team approximately 50% of work time.**

    ****Education and/or Experience:****

    **High School Diploma or G.E.D. required**

    **Do You Want to Be a Leader Training required**

    **Knowledge of PGT products and processes preferred**

    **Proficient in MS Office (Word & Excel) preferred**

    **SAP/AS400**

    **Two years manufacturing experience preferred**

    **Must have strong self initiative**

    **Excellent problem-solving skills**

    **Show high levels of leadership potential**

    **Language / Communication Skills:**

    **Effective written and verbal English communication skills necessary**

    **Mathematical Skills:**

    **None**

    **Reasoning Ability:**

    **Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize**

    **Ability to assess situations and make appropriate decisions**

    **Mechanical aptitude a plus**

    **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:**

    **Physical and Environmental Requirements:**

    ** Constant standing up to 12 of hours a day**

    ** Frequent walking throughout assembly facilities**

    ** Frequent bending/stooping/squatting**

    ** Occasional reaching overhead when handling glass**

    ** Frequent reaching/pushing/pulling away from body**

    ** Frequent pushing with minimal or maximum force to maneuver the glass down the production line on rollers**

    ** Frequent carrying up to 60 lbs.**

    ** Occasional lifting up to 90 lbs. Frequent repetitive hand/foot/head/neck movements required**

    **Other: Temperatures will vary. Dusty and noisy environment when operating machines and tools. Safety shoes, ear and eye protection required always in all plants. Additional PPE may be required depending on location or task.**

    **Occasional activity exists less than 1/3 of the time**

    **Frequent activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time**

    ****Travel Requirements:****

    **Ability to travel occasionally domestically.**
