Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Billing Coordinator. As a Billing Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. This position requires strong data entry skills, customer service experience, and technical accounting knowledge.
Duties:
- Perform data entry of billing information into the system
- Generate and distribute invoices to clients
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and resolve any discrepancies
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing issues or discrepancies
- Conduct account analysis to identify and resolve billing errors
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth billing processes
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed
Responsibilities:
- Process patient invoices, payments, and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for fertility treatments.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, costs, and financial responsibilities.
- Coordinate with insurance providers, billing companies, and financial institutions to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.
- Generate financial reports, analyze billing data, and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Provide financial counseling and payment plan options to patients, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Maintain patient financial records, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to optimize billing processes and revenue cycle management.
- Stay updated with insurance policies, billing codes, and industry standards related to fertility services.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a billing or accounting role preferred
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle client inquiries professionally and efficiently
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in math calculations and financial services terminology
- Ability to analyze accounts and identify discrepancies or errors
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in medical billing and financial position, preferably in a healthcare or fertility practice.
- Proficiency in billing software, electronic medical records (EMR), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes, CPT codes, ICD-10 coding, and reimbursement guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, patient privacy, and healthcare compliance standards.
