    The Advanced Data and Visualization team builds bespoke dashboards and solutions that are used by Akamai's top leaderships to demonstrate Akamai's value to customers and prospect. These solutions will ultimately tie in to story we want to tell our customers, and the impact we make every day to our end-users.

    Partner with the best

    You will be build high-performing, asynchronous and multi-threaded web services in Java/Python. Work with existing tools and systems to retrieve and store critical data points in a time-sensitive manner. Agility, versatility and ability to shift between technologies will be part of the job, while following SDLC and the best industry practices.

    As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining the user interface (UI) of websites or web applications. This involves writing clean, efficient and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Being responsible to us port the current UI to be compatible on mobile and IPad in a quick fashion
  • Working closely with Product Managers, User Experience (UX) Designers, and other Engineers to implement elegant and easy to use front-end solutions.
  • Collaborating with Architects to come up with useable and innovative interfaces to serve our customers
  • Translating wireframes into functional requirements, and implementing best practices for faster rendering.
  • Collaborating with back-end developers to ensure the seamless integration of the front-end with the back-end and to meet design and functionality requirements.
  • Optimizing the front- end code for performance, including minimizing HTTP requests, reducing page load time, and implementing best practices for faster rendering
  • Ensuring that the websites and web applications developed work well across different browsers and devices, and de-bugging and fixing any compatibility issues
  • Using control systems like GIT to collaborate with team members and manage repositories effectively

    To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience building rich JavaScript web applications and reusable UI components
  • Have experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, , Typescript, REST, and JSON
  • Have working knowledge with RESTful APIs and modern authorization mechanisms
  • Have familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
  • Have ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Have an understanding of benchmarking and optimization and code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Have knowledge of NEXTJS framework, Material UI (MUI), Tailwind, React related libraries, D3js, and other chart libraries

    Compensation

    Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $93,656 - $140,803/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
