The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the technical management, optimization, and integration of IREX's IT infrastructure, with a specialized focus on Microsoft Office 365, Intune, and Defender. They will serve as the primary driver behind ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, bolstering security measures, and enhancing efficiency across diverse geographical regions. The Systems Engineer will be in charge of implementing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business, ensuring that they are tailored to meet the unique needs of our global operations.

Your Background & Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of work experience.
Proven experience as an Office 365 Engineer or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of Office 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
Hands-on experience with Office 365 administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of email protocols, mail flow, and SMTP.
Experience with PowerShell scripting for Office 365 automation and management.
Familiarity with Office 365 security and compliance features.
The ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with diverse teams, and build strong relationships.
Capacity to adjust to changing environments, embrace new challenges, and remain resilient in the face of uncertainty.
Proficiency in analyzing data, synthesizing information, and making informed decisions.
Consistently thorough and meticulous in tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision in all endeavors.

Your Daily Tasks

Oversee the configuration, administration, and maintenance of multiple Microsoft Office 365 tenants' services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
Configure and maintain Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and Windows Cloud PCs, overseeing device enrollment, compliance and configuration policies, and application management.
Ensure seamless integration of Microsoft Office 365 and associated services with other IT systems and applications, such as ERP solutions or third-party tools, to facilitate efficient data flow and interoperability.
Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and configurations, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity in system administration tasks.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for IREX IT systems and applications, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruption to business operations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in IT operations, proactively implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring that Office 365 requirements are properly addressed and implemented.
Collaborate and interact with developers and vendors to ensure project completion and alignment with organizational goals.
Assist in the evaluation of new services and products, researching and assessing their suitability for integration into IREX IT environment to support organizational needs and objectives.
Design and implement Microsoft Azure services, such as VMs and Networks, to support IT infrastructure requirements.
Implement security best practices and compliance policies within the Office 365 environment.
Assist in user training and adoption initiatives to maximize the value of Office 365 services across the organization.
Accountable for ensuring accurate and timely response for business development efforts.
Provide input and recommendations for the IT unit budget, leveraging expertise to identify strategic investments, cost-saving opportunities, and priorities aligned with organizational goals and IT objectives.
Other duties as assigned.

This position is eligible for Telework. The eligible employee is a regular, full-time DC-based staff who works from a worksite outside the DC office for one or more days a week.
