Schedule:

M - F / 8 hr. office (on-site) with occasional after hours


This is NOT a remote position / local applicants or those willing to move to Austin, TX.
This position will oversee Pest Training at all 5 branches as well as Satellite offices.


Based in Austin but will be required to travel to other branch offices (San Antonio, College Station, Corpus Christi & Rio Grande Valley) Occasional (1-2x/Month) visits to the branches is to be expected.

How You'll Make an Impact:


The Education and Training Specialist works under the general supervision of the Director of Quality and Technical Training to design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate training, education, and quality assurance programs conducted for residential pest, commercial pest, and lawn care specialists in all ABC & Chem-free markets.

This position will be based in the Austin, TX location.


What You'll Bring:


  • B.S. in Entomology or related biological science preferred.
  • Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) or Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) Certification preferred. Must be obtained within the first 2 years of start date if not Certified Applicator in the State of Texas in Pest Category.
  • Extremely taskoriented, with high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Strong followthrough on delegated tasks and assignments.
  • Experience in a leading position and demonstrated ability in effectively guiding groups is preferred.
  • Follows established policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate with members at all levels of the organization and outside vendors and customers.
  • Detailoriented with the ability to organize workflow and create solutions for the education and training of Pest and Lawn Care Specialists.
  • Dependable and selfmotivated with a desire to work yearround.
  • Must be driven to deliver excellence in all educational and training programs developed to meet the needs of the company.
  • Ability to use and navigate electronic tablet/phone, computers, etc.
  • Administrative skills preferred, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Completing tasks from start to finish.
  • Concern about getting work done on time and correctly.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and may sit for long periods of time.
  • Wear a respirator according to OSHA requirements.
  • Some travel required to other branches or meetings.
  • Occasional overnight travel required.

What You'll Do:


  • Must stay up to date with the industry trends, developments, and technology that relates to educational and training materials in all aspects of training to the Specialists, Managers, and CSR's.
  • Develop Continuing Educational programs for pest and lawn care specialists that must meet TDA requirements for technician and certified applicator licensing to be taught in a classroom and/or large group setting.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the training board and the process of all new pest and lawn care specialist start date(s) for all branches. This also includes assigning all new pest and lawn specialists with an approved trainer and maintaining the evaluations from those trainers.
  • Develop educational programs (CEU) that are informative and relevant for the Pest and Lawn care Customer Service Representatives ensuring the accuracy of the information and content can be applied to serve the ABC/ChemFree customers' needs.
  • Develop, improve, and monitor the Specialist Advancement Program for all pest and lawn care specialists and encourage that advancement throughout all ABC and Chemfree locations.
  • Maintain and organize the licensing of all Apprentices, Technicians and Certified Applicators of the Pest and Lawn Care Specialists. Guarantees all requirements are met according to TDA specifications for all licenses that are up for renewal on an annual basis. This includes the monitoring that all TDA forms are submitted to the state by all branches.
  • Assist in the development and the evolving processes of the pest control protocols. Develop and present educational material for schools, businesses, and associations that represent not just ABC Home & Commercial Services but the Pest industry as a positive and important industry.
  • Meet with QC Auditors on a regular basis to discuss current audits and
