The Part-time Director of Children & Youth Ministry at Grace Church will often be the first point of contact for a young family encountering Grace Church.

• In-person Sunday mornings from 9:15 A.M.
• 10:45 A.M., including holidays falling on Sundays such as Easter and occasionally Christmas.
• This work spans the school year (late August through midJune each year). Mid-June, July, and most of August will not require work hours; dates are to be clarified with the Rector each school year. Pay is $25 an hour, with 3 preapproved Sundays of vacation per calendar year in addition to the time off mentioned above. The Director reports directly to the Rector.

• Oversee teaching of two classes: 5th & 6th grader class from 9:30 A.M. 10 A.M. on Sunday mornings directly followed by kindergarten/5year old's through 4th grade class from 10:00 A.M. 10:30 A.M., using the provided curriculum (5th and 6th grade class is in flux and timing/plans could change)
• Work with youth and parishioners to develop programming for youth (for example, coordinate a group of youth to go to a soup kitchen, or other ways to teach them social justice)
• Serve as first point of contact for visitors, parishionersanyone who is interested in Sunday School for their child.

• Recruit and schedule high schoolers (or parent volunteers) to join you in the classroom each Sunday. As part of our safe church practices, two caregivers are required to be in the classroom each Sunday.

• Oversee Christmas pageant, performed on the Sunday before Christmas Eve.
• Oversee and coordinate a welcome back Sunday school dinner for families at the beginning of school year (late August/early September), and an end of the school year dinner in May/June
• Oversee and coordinate confirmation classes as needed

• Providing captivating, educational environment for children and youth of multiple ages using curriculum provided
• Exceptional communication and listening skills; good with people
• Safe Church Training (we will provide online training after you are hired)
• Good basic knowledge of first aid procedures
• Must have consistent transportation
• Helpful (but not required): demonstrated ability to lead groups of children in activities/learning
