- Collaborate with your team to efficiently and safely construct set forms for structural concrete, paving, and foundation projects based on blueprints or oral instructions.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on boards, timbers, and plywood using precision tools.
- Shape materials to the required size with saws, chisels, and planes.
- Safely operate carpentry tools, including hammers, levels, screwdrivers, power saws, and drills.
- Construct and brace concrete-supporting forms using cleats, tie rods, and anchor bolts.
- Work with rebar, construct chutes, and align panels for concrete pouring.
- Assist in concrete placement and finishing.
- Rig materials for transport into and out of excavations.
- Verify the accuracy of structures using transits, lasers, squares, levels, and strings.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine material needs and project dimensions.
- Support your team with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, always striving for improvement.
- Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and basic math (addition and subtraction). Able to interpret flat drawings or diagrams into solid structures.
- Experience: 5+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in heavy highway construction.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods. Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
