Description

We are seeking a
Parts Counter Salesperson to be the first point of contact for our Parts Department.

This individual would perform a variety of customer service, in store marketing, promoting, advertising and stocking duties for our Mack and Volvo parts lines.

This is a second shift position, 11:30 AM - 8 PM, Tuesday through Saturday (Saturday hours 7:00 - 3:30).

Essential Functions

Read catalogs, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices for diesel parts.
Determine replacement diesel parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
Receive and fill telephone orders for Mack and Volvo parts.
Fill customer orders from stock.
Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
Take inventory of stock.
Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective diesel parts or refund money.
Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
Catalog and categorize parts for proper placement on the stock shelves

Experience:

Ability to read and comprehend parts diagrams and a variety of parts cataloging systems
Previous parts counter sales experience, preferred diesel experience but will train if only auto parts experience.
Ability to train on the dealership's computer system.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
