Permanent, direct placement role
Ventura, CA
Job Description:
Processes the activities of accounts payable so as to ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors in a professional and courteous manner; and assist other staff members as directed in an effort to ensure the requirements and demands of the Accounting Department are being met.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Reviews or assigns account codes to ensure payments are recorded in the proper account.
+ Matches invoices as appropriate to purchase orders and/or delivery receipts and verifies pricing and extensions are correct.
+ Ensures payments have appropriate authorization consistent with Hospital policy.
+ Processes invoices in a timely manner to ensure purchase discounts are taken and that due dates are met consistent with management direction.
+ Maintains accounts payable records in an organized manner for ease of access and consistent with Hospital records retention policy.
+ Distributes monthly accounts payable summary reports to management as directed.
+ Prepares month-end accrual journal entries as needed to ensure matching of expenses to the appropriate period and proper account distribution.
+ Maintains patient, employee and financial information confidentiality.
+ Assists in the month-end closing process as directed to help meet reporting requirements and time deadlines.
+ Maintains certain financial and/or statistical summary schedules as directed.
+ Assists other Accounting staff as directed in an effort to ensure the over all requirements of the Accounting Department are being met.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
+ Matching invoices to purchase orders, delivery receipts
+ Extensive communication with vendors
+ Must have strong customer service skills
+ HS Diploma or GED required
+ Healthcare industry background is preferred
