Description

The Carrier Intake & Readiness Lead owns the front door of delivery for all carrier-driven work.

This role ensures that every carrier request entering the organization is complete, validated, correctly classified, and system-ready before it is allowed into prioritization and delivery sequencing.

This role is responsible for making sure Jira reflects the true, validated state of carrier readiness for all RQC platforms, so leadership and delivery teams can trust what they see.

What This Role Owns

• Carrier documentation readiness (forms, rules, rates, requirements)
• Validation of carrier submissions before work is accepted
• Intake completeness and accuracy
• Carrier-side dependency tracking
• Ongoing carrier follow-ups to close readiness gaps
• Jira intake accuracy and readiness status
• Readiness handoff to Centralized Operations

This role does not own prioritization, delivery commitments, or execution sequencing.
Key Responsibilities
Carrier Intake & Readiness

• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for carriers during onboarding, updates, and changes
• Collect, validate, and organize carrier documentation required for delivery
• Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear carrier inputs and drive resolution
• Ensure all requests meet the Definition of Ready before entering execution

Jira Intake Management

• Create and maintain carrier-related work items in Jira
• Ensure all required fields, classifications, and attachments are complete and accurate
• Apply correct issue types and readiness statuses
• Maintain clear audit trails of carrier submissions, approvals, and changes
• Ensure Jira reflects real-world readiness, not assumptions

Front-Door Governance

• Prevent incomplete or ambiguous carrier requests from entering prioritization
• Classify carrier requests correctly (new development, maintenance, compliance, defects)
• Enforce readiness standards consistently

Readiness Risk & Operational Visibility

• Track carrier-side dependencies and aging intake items
• Surface readiness risks, stalled requests, and responsiveness issues early
• Provide the Centralized Operations Manager with clear visibility into intake bottlenecks and systemic risks
• Escalate issues that may impact delivery planning or capacity forecasting

Intake Quality & Process Improvements

• Own intake quality metrics ( rework rate, intake-to-ready cycle time, readiness failures)
• Identify reoccurring carrier issues and recommend upstream fixed ( templates, guidance, process changes)
• Work with Centralized Operations on intake process improvements and automation opportunities
• Help standardize carrier intake practices across RQC platforms

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with Pod Leads to validate that carrier inputs are usable and complete
• Partner with Engineering and Unified Ops to clarify dependencies and scope
• Work with Sales and Carrier Ops to resolve intake gaps quickly and set clear expectations with carriers

Carrier Relationship Support

• Set clear expectations with carriers about what is required for work to begin
• Track outstanding carrier dependencies and drive follow-through
• Reduce rework and delays caused by poor intake
