Surgical Oncologist — Grand Rapids, MI – MD/DO
University of Michigan Health-West, a leader in Healthcare in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a full-time Surgical Oncologist to join our expanding, multi-discipline team. Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health systems create an opportunity for program collaboration, mentorship, and research if desired.
Candidate will need to coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.

OPPORTUNITY DETAILS:
•Ability to work closely with a partnering team of specialists encompassing 37+ specialty care and hospital-based service lines
•Play a key role in providing exceptional care to patients with hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and advanced practice providers to develop individualized treatment plans.
•Conduct and participate in clinical research, contributing to the advancement of malignant hematology.
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging therapies and clinical trial opportunities for patients.
•Educate and mentor medical students, residents
•Develop strong relationships with patients and their families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their treatment journey.
•Participate in tumor board meetings and provide expert consultation to other healthcare providers.

The recent agreement to develop The Cancer Network of West Michigan, a joint venture between University of Michigan Health- Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan Health-West and Trinity Health leverages the combined resources and capabilities of the two West Michigan health systems and Michigan Medicine, the academic medical center of the University of Michigan. The Cancer Network of West Michigan encompasses three West Michigan campuses including: University of Michigan Health-West located in Wyoming, MI, Trinity Health Saint Mary's located in Grand Rapids, MI and Trinity Health Mercy Muskegon located in Muskegon, MI.
