JOB SUMMARY


The Quality Assurance team within Digital is responsible for the delivery of large, high-impact initiatives, projects, enhancements, and maintenance for branded digital assets on the web, mobile app, and supporting platforms.

This position will be involved in active development and is expected to work with Sr.

QE Manager to define and deliver the automation strategy, the automation framework, and championing Automation First mindset across the Digital organization.

This position supports automation development and execution throughout Digitals Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process and is expected to provide key updates on the automation deliverables to QE Leadership for all releases and key milestones.


This role will be responsible to bring new automation ideas to life, optimize test executions and shorten testing cycles in a fast-paced development environment.


CANDIDATE PROFILE
E
ducation and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field OR equivalent total years of experience or certification
  • Over all 5+ years of experience in Test Automation, QA or IT operations using open source and enterprise testing technologies using both coded and codeless automation frameworks
  • 2+ years of managing automation team of highly skilled SDETs, including performing code reviews, and establishing coding standards
  • Practical experience and use of Automation tools like Java, Selenium, Appium, Mobile app simulators, Charles trace, Source tree, Xcode.
  • Practical experience and use of use of tools like Jira, Confluence, Service Now, Browser Stack (for both Web and Mobile) in an Agile development environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of Jenkins, GitHub, Bit Bucket and other Devops tools like Harness used for CI/CD capabilities.
  • Knowledge of WebGL, React, AWS solutions architecture, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results under challenging conditions, particularly when faced with complexity, ambiguity, and execution in an Agile development model
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment delivering incremental software with high quality
  • Must possess critical thinking and analytical skills in addition to great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Define and deliver automation strategy, next generation automation technologies and roadmaps.
  • SAFe Agile experience is a plus
  • Experience to configuring, updating and leveraging parallels for executions in Browserstack and in Jenkins / Harness.

  • Add/Enhance and maintain the Digital QA automation strategy across Digital channels
  • Ability to assist teams with troubleshooting for automation developed script errors, and managing Git Pull and Push PRs
  • Have the ability to assist leadership to take technical decisions around current and future automation needs
  • Ensure maximum automation development coverage through automation to support quality releases across the digital channels.
  • Partner with other QA leaders to identify gaps, opportunities, and resource needs to champion automation first mindset.
  • Daily responsibilities include working with vendor resources across Digital channels in an onshore and offshore model.
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams while being sensitive to all cultures and norms

  • Monitor and adhere to the Automation Test Strategy and play a pivotal role in the implementation of Automation efforts across the enterprise
  • Ensure Test artifacts are consistent and of the high quality
  • Balance maximizing automation coverage by minimizing risk so that key business projects have a clear path to production with very low risk from lesser priority projects
  • Manage effective communication and escalations in timely manner as needed for reducing delivery risks
  • Accountable for Planning, Estimating and Projecting automation effort estimations for new projects and initiatives

  • Define quality metrics related to automation, and drive data driven process improvements
  • Develop, review and deliver of Integration and Regression test plans to certify the product quality before production releases
  • Maintain vendor relations and periodically review their work as per Marriott standards
