The Small Business Specialist I proactively deepens relationships with existing Small Business customers within a specified territory.

The Small Business Specialist I ensures equal access to banking products and services across all communities including businesses in low-to-moderate income areas and minority communities.

This job initiates contact with all new Small Business customers by conducting a customer assessment within 30 days of them joining the bank.

This role assigns Customer to the proper TD Relationship Manager (RMLM, SB Specialist, Store Manager) based on the results of the customer assessment.


Depth & Scope:


  • Actively calls all New Small Business customers that have opened accounts in partner stores and completes a customer assessment
  • Actively calls SB customers assigned and meets with them as necessary to deepen relationship, manage customer service issues, and identify product needs
  • Assigns SB Customers to proper TD Relationship Manager based on customer parameters
  • Directly manages group of Stores loan portfolio within Front End Fulfillment process, responsible for the origination, structuring and closing of all non RMLM Small Business loan requests.
  • Develops Small Business product expertise to properly vet potential product fits for our customer base
  • Works with the Stores and Commercial Bank to ensure superior Customer service as measured by CWI
  • Manages Portfolio of all loans in Front End Fulfillment process including relationship checkups and the renewal process.
  • Determines the proper relationship manager (RMLM/SB Specialist/Store Manager) for all new to bank customers and assigns appropriately
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ Years of related experience
  • Two years of calling and lending or credit support related experience at the Small Business level
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed marketing goals
  • Needs to be able to understand and analyze personal and business financial statements
