Position Highlights:
Assists in drug preparation, drug storage, drug distribution, drug inventory, and required record keeping under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Supports Avera Health/Avera McKennan through the daily application of our mission, vision, core values and social principles while providing quality care and service to our patients, their families, coworkers, physicians, volunteers, and the communities we serve.
Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively with Safety Principles. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. May be involved on organization committees. Able to deal with phone conversations, correspondence, or direct contact with people about billing issues. Need working knowledge of insurance, Medicare and basic accounting principles. Works proactively with specialty pharmacy patients to provide comprehensive financial planning and financial advocacy. Responsible for prescription insurance verification, prior authorizations and compassionate care medication programs. Provides superior customer service; facilitates third party and patient billing for specialty pharmacy patients. Secures pharmacy patient accounts to ensure payment of medications; provides problem solving for specialty patients and internal customers.Education and/or Experience
