Position Summary:
Empower is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Lead to join our team.

This pivotal role combines technical expertise with leadership, providing guidance and training to our compounding team in the preparation of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs).

You will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our sterile preparations while fostering a culture of quality and safety.


In this role, you will be responsible for training and mentoring compounding technicians, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your technical skills will be put to use as you operate production equipment and monitor workflow and production schedules to ensure timely and efficient preparation of CSPs.

Your dedication to excellence will also be showcased through your involvement in inspections, audits, and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance and training to the compounding team in the preparation of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) according to established formulas and procedures.
  • Compounds sterile preparations accurately and in compliance with master formula worksheets.
  • Trains and mentors, compounding technicians to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Ensures cleaning and garbing policy is performed per company regulations.
  • Performs calculations and completes documentation as required.
  • Operates all production equipment accurately and according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the utilization of correct and appropriate aseptic technique.
  • Prepares work areas thoroughly prior to production.
  • Operates and monitors technical, computerized, equipment ensuring quality standards are
  • Monitors compounding workflow and production schedules to ensure timely preparation of CSPs and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Conducts regular inspections and audits of compounding processes and equipment to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of compounding activities, including batch records, logbooks, and inventory management systems.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sterile compounding and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Ensures that all compounding activities are conducted in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities, as necessary, within the department to provide the required support to ensure adherence to the production schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The Employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time for consecutive days and work in a confined, controlled environment for extended periods of time.

The Employee must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Employee is required to fully gown in aseptic garb for extended periods of time.
