Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and customer-oriented individual to serve as a part-time Human Services Coordinator, to support the provision of activities, programs, and services offered by our Human Services Department.

You will support the coordination of various activities and programs across the community, provide general assistance to department staff, and offer administrative support as needed.


Summary of Responsibilities (_see job description for complete details)_:

  • Coordinate and support the provision of activities and programs, including recreational, senior, or veterans services and events under the general direction of the Human Services Director, and other Division managers as delegated.
  • Intake customer service inquiries from program participants such as questions, complaints, and feedback, and triage appropriately, either answering minor questions themselves, routing to the relevant staff members, or presenting to Managers for consideration and decisionmaking.
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and correspondence, and provide general support to department staff and serve as a backup for various administrative and financial functions.
  • Support marketing and advertising efforts to promote departmental programs.
  • Provide technical support to program leaders and participants.
  • Update and support data collection and operating systems, including MySeniorCenter or recreationrelated software.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

The following requirements may be substituted by an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience, with preference for experience in recreation, senior services, event coordination, or administrative support
  • Knowledge and familiarity with social, cultural, and recreational needs of community members, and understanding of local government services.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse populations and conflict management abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and office operations.
  • Administrative work involves sitting with intermittent periods of walking and standing.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of heavy objects may be required.
  • Visual demands include reading documents and frequent computer use.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Status and Compensation:


This is an FLSA non-exempt, non-union, non-benefited position with an anticipated schedule of 19 hours per week during regular business hours, with an anticipated hiring range of $20.87 to $23.04 per hour per hour depending on qualifications.
