    Description
    Position Summary

    The Sr. Accountant role will have a combination of assigned responsibilities that will serve the organization by

    providing support and expertise to the accounting department for financial and planning needs. The Sr. Accountant

    executes and reports the transactional business of the organization and is responsible for establishing and

    maintaining policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. As part of the month end

    close process, the Sr. Accountant is expected to assist in the compilation of the monthly Federal Election Commission

    (FEC) report.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Prepare various daily revenue reports to ensure integrity of all revenueCollaborate with the Digital department to manage on-line contribution import filesValidate source code designations with the Finance department Monitor bank account to pull support for automatic paymentsInitiate interfund transfer requestsPrepare bank reconciliationsMaintain Concur software by adding employees.

    Assist employees with questions on booking traveland/or submitting expense reportsPrepare weekly Concur report to upload into Great PlainsMaintain Amazon Business Prime account by adding employeesAssist departments with credit card transactions and GL codingPrepare weekly and monthly Concur payout reports to upload into Great PlainsPull monthly credit card statements and corresponding support to send to departmentsAssist with month-end close transactionsReconcile and research daily variances between Great Plains and donor databaseEnsure timely and accurate financial reportsResponsible for sales and use tax registrations, tracking and periodic reportingMaintain fixed asset records, depreciation, sub ledgers and reconciliationsPrepare Annual Personal Property Tax Return.

    Assist in property tax audits, as needed

    OtherMaintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and internal control requirementsDemonstrate sound judgement in situations where clear direction is not available and/or interpretation of policies and procedures is requiredMonitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Federal Election Commission (FEC)Establish and/or improve current business processes, communication and workflow between theFinance, Digital and Administration divisionsFacilitate complex transactions and act as a resource to other divisionsAll other Ad Hoc projects and duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    Experience working with a non-profit, multi-entity or fund accounting industry is desirableFund accounting experience preferredUnderstanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    Ability to develop and establish financial policies and proceduresExperience using Microsoft Great Plains is desirableStrong computer skills:

    Education, Experience and Certifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experienceCPA experience preferred
