Primary Responsibilities:


The Director of Life Enrichment is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a loving and safe environment for all of our residents, while helping each of them to achieve their maximum potential.

We are committed to be a resource for the families of our residents who have entrusted us with their care.

We will empower our staff by providing them with a motivating and supportive work environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1) Plan, schedule, monitor and facilitate community sponsored programs including arts and crafts, exercise, religious services, musical events, current events, games, movies, and educational programs.

2) Support and implement resident "sponsored" events. These events may run under the direction of a resident.

3) Meet the Supportive Living Program requirements for program development and implementation.

4) Produce monthly informational calendar with all events to be given to current and prospective residents and family members.

5) Assist in planning and implementing The Pointe's special events.

6) Assist with research and implement guest entertainers and monitor effectiveness.

7) Cooperate with Dining Services and Marketing Departments in planning special events.

8) Assist with planning and implementing "Outrips" to the movies, shopping, site seeing, etc.

9) Maintain a visual history of Department events through photography and videotape.

10) Follow The Pointe's safety policy for the bus and other transportation requirements.

11) Oversee The Resident Council and respond to their ideas and comments.

12) Cooperate with Nursing Department in attempts to improve the quality of life for each resident

13) Provide large print material of calendars, special events and changes to those with vision problems.

14) Assist the Marketing Department with special Public Relations events.

15) Maintain room usage log for entire building. Record in-house and outside organization meetings.

16) Assist in developing and maintaining volunteer program.

17) Work within budgetary guidelines for supplies and other expenditures.

18) Follow The Pointe's policies regarding dress code, personnel issues, payroll procedures, and petty cash.

19) Cooperate with Marketing Department in offering assistance in leasing new apartments.

20) Attend all in-services as required.

21) Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills
Required:

1) Activity certification preferred but not necessary.

2) Must have compassion and empathy for seniors and desire to work with seniors.

4) Self-directed, demonstrating initiative and follow-through

5) Must be inspired to serve the needs of residents.

6) Ability to multitask.

7) Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

8) Must have the ability to read, write and follow written direction in the English language.

9) Ability to timely and effectively follow up on all necessary requests from residents and families.

10) Maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that fosters cooperation.

12) Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure.

13) Must maintain current driver's license.

14) Ability to communicate well, verbally and written.

15) Ability to recognize and communicate problems with Executive Director.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
