- Operate telephone system to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information and taking messages.
- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and maintain appropriate visitor logs.
- Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Maintain access control system in regard to creation of Employee ID and visitor badges.
- Maintain lobby and reception work area in a professional manner.
- Conduct safety and security audits of campus locations.
- Monitor security cameras and report any suspicious activity.
- Activate emergency response notifications as applicable.
- Respond to inquiries regarding CDC guidelines in regard to Public Health crises.
- Provide guidance and assistance on human resources policies, procedures, and standards to current and potential employees.
- Maintain confidential employee records.
- Lead various Human Resources projects.
- Approve incoming requests including, but not limited to, legal and preferred name changes, photo changes, etc.
- Provide campus tours as needed or requested.
- Create a positive experience for all new employees to support the employee engagement initiatives.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.

The HR and Safety Assistant also assists with HR and Safety related duties within the organization.Your contribution may include:
As a HR and Safety Assistant, you will be a member of the ArcBest Human Resources team in Fort Smith, AR.
