- Reports to the Associate Director, Engineering and Utilities.
- Oversees the Safety and Quality Control programs supporting the Facility Operations team and their work.
- Supports development of: JHFRE Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures providing scope and goals direction for JHFRE Shops and supporting vendors.
- Along with the Associate Director, responsible for supporting and maintaining a safe, high quality, service oriented, professional Facility Operations department with an engaged staff and vendors performing at their highest level in a workplace environment where they feel empowered, respected, trusted and valued.
- Provides expertise on matters related to safety quality assurance processes and specific issues, and acts as a resource for all Facility Operations team members on safety and quality control programs established for Facility Operations services and projects.
- Attend appropriate team meetings regularly and participate in coordination activities.
- Assure JHFRE Shops and/or outside vendors have established and maintain a QA/QC process and reporting and review same on a regular basis for proactive open items timely completion.
- Review manufacturer's installation guidelines and verify in the field for compatibility and compliance of product installation
- Field oversight of project consultants / inspectors such as Waterproofing, Special Inspection, Geotechnical, Acoustics, Systems Commissioning. Assure Constructors' tracking of associated Consultant Field Observation Reports, required actions and timely completion of same.
- Field inspection and verification of all trade work as it relates to plans, details, specifications, applicable jurisdictional codes, manufacturer's installation requirements, Facilities Design Guidelines, etc.
- Owners' representation for verification of field-performed testing.
- Assists Associate Director with developing and implementing a quality control policy with specific goals and procedures, recommending priorities, establishing objectives, goals and key results expected of each project team.
- Assists with quality control training and professional development opportunities for Facility Operations staff.
- Provides superior customer service to internal and external Facility Operations customers by understanding the programmatic facility quality needs of customers and translating them into completed projects in a timely manner.
- Provides inclusive quality-focused planning and review approach to assure delivery of projects/work that are appropriate for their function, easy to maintain, durable, energy efficient, integrated with existing systems, and aligned with the strategic mission.
- Works cohesively with all units of Facilities and Real Estate to support the overall mission of the organization.
- Fosters collaborative relationships among all project team members.
- Participates in the development of work schedules, recommends quality control activities and milestones within those schedules, and monitors progress to ensure timely quality control activities are completed.
- Responsible for the development and management of initiatives and programs to prevent and reduce workplace injuries and strengthen departmental safety culture by assessing and improving operational processes and providing relevant training in an effort to create a more secure workplace environment.
- Conducts risk assessments and accident investigations to identify and mitigate community hazards to eliminate liability exposure.
- Implements and upholds quality assurance measures and leads process improvement efforts including coordination of internal quality assurance audits, reviewing general policies and procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training curricula, feedback surveys, incident reports, and other crucial content related to process improvement for Facility Operations.
- Work collaboratively with the operations' teams to resolve quality control incidents and achieve key Performance Indicators.
- Perform safety inspections at work sites.
- Promotes and monitors quality assurance and safety opportunities in all Facility Operations work.
- Along with Associate Director, reviews proposals and bids related to quality assurance and safety activities and may attend consultant and vendor interviews.
- Provides quality assurance and safety program leadership on Facility Operations work/projects; confirms appropriate programs and procedures are implemented.
- Assures quality control program reporting is completed regularly for assigned projects.
- Provides recommendations to the Associate Director and Facility Operations team members regarding processes and issues observed needing input, direction or correction.
- Conducts quality assurance and safety audits for Facility Operations.
- With the Associate Director, develops JHFRE functional area leadership by identifying quality assurance and safety skills gaps, ensuring the availability of appropriate training, providing coaching and guidance, empowering employees to enhance their performance potential.
- Exchanges routine and non-routine information with staff, vendors, internal and external clients using tact and persuasion as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication skills.
- Communicates with project constituents so they are informed of project quality planning and progress.
- Collaborate with Operations team to maximize customer service scoring.
- Clearly communicates and reinforces quality assurance and safety performance expectations and job responsibilities with assigned staff.

Under general supervision of the Associate Director, Engineering and Utilities, the Coordinator, Safety & Quality Assurance, Facilities Operations will oversee the quality assurance and safety processes for the work and projects assigned to the Facility Operations team.
