Job Overview:
We are a small, busy private surgical practice seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team.

As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical/surgical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD10 coding systems
• Ensure compliance with all relevant coding guidelines and regulations
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
• Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
• Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and reimbursement policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Coding Certification preferred
• Minimum two years of experience as a Medical Biller
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10, and CPT coding systems
• Familiarity with medical billing software and EHR system (Epic)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff
