- Serve as the location expert for continuous improvement tools and processes
- Partner with plant leaders to develop continuous improvement strategies that directly support plant Hoshin goals, then implement those strategies on the shop floor including the tools and processes required to sustain the improvements in the future.
- Lead and deploy Smart manufacturing concepts to improve operational efficiency including execution of project and outcome with department support
- Lead reliability strategy and implementation to support business objectives
- Lead self-directed work team culture to empower worker creativity and resourcefulness.
- Assist in developing closer connections to our customers and suppliers.
- Lead the development and implementation of the overall Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, including establishing the standardized visual system, the overall assessment process, training, and building a system for engaging volunteers for TPM events.
- Participate on the Business Unit Continuous Improvement Steering Committee
- Lead the effort in training all levels of employees in lean manufacturing principles and concepts
- Define activities that require engineered solutions resulting in reduced waste, improved quality, improved throughput, increased machine/person ratio, improved safety, and improved business unit DVP%.
- Lead and collaborate with cross functional internal teams focused on shop floor factory improvements, which could include CAPEX.
- Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement through data-driven methods such as Lean Six Sigma principles, root cause analysis, and statistical tools.
- Drive consistent, uniform approaches for visual controls and productivity measurements to be utilized throughout production teams and the factory.
- Plan and execute the annual Hoshin Planning Session
