Position Summary

• Develop and execute comprehensive cybersecurity solutions throughout the organization, encompassing risk assessments, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. Provide leadership in cybersecurity and project management while enhancing workflows for analyzing, reporting, and addressing detected cyber incidents.
• Evaluate and monitor the efficacy of deployed cybersecurity measures, pinpoint areas for improvement, and devise strategies to tackle emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct network defense analysis and offer recommendations for enhancements. Maintain current, in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats and best practices in incident response.
• Create and maintain documentation, such as project plans, policies, and procedures, to facilitate knowledge transfer and process enhancement within the cybersecurity team.
• Establish and develop security requirements through risk assessments, testing, and analysis of existing systems. Plan and design security solutions and capabilities that empower the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Design action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and evolving cybersecurity threats. Develop security integration plans to safeguard existing infrastructure and integrate future solutions. Leverage various security information and event management (SIEM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other tools in designs.
• Engage in advanced, complex technical projects or business issues that demand cutting-edge technical or industry knowledge. Collaborate with stakeholders to promote the adoption of secure software designs and best practices. Stay up to date on the latest intelligence from law enforcement and other sources of cyber threat information.
• Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, to deliver intricate security projects on schedule and within budget.
• Possess experience in performing security audits, assessments, or penetration testing, and the capacity to analyze and report on findings to enhance the organization's security posture.

Minimum Requirements

• High School or equivalent (or higher) is required. Master's degree is preferred.
• 5 - 7 years of experience in a LAN / WAN environment
• 5 or more years technical experience in cyber security
• 2 or more years of experience with forensic tools, investigations, and incident response.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following areas including 10 or more years of experience: Perimeter Access Defense, LAN / WAN routing and switching, IDS and firewall engineering. Provides team leadership in areas of expertise.
• Experience leading project teams to design and implement new solutions.
• Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Independently motivated to seek knowledge in areas pertaining to their current position
• Self-educates and seeks knowledge from management of ECU Health, Information Services environment and ECU Health operations relevant to their position.
• Must maintain current knowledge, skill set, and certification (where applicable).
