Margaret Sheets

I am an extremely enthusiastic and positive person who strives for a challenging and engaging work environment. I have worked as an educator for almost three years. Previously I have worked as an office administrator, server, dance instructor, and inventory and supply manager. I love to be creative through multiple different hobbies such as dancing, cross stitch, and crocheting. I am married to a wonderful man and we have a newborn son. Family is incredibly important to me and so I am searching for a career where I can have a healthy work/life balance. 

 

I have worked as an educator for the past two going on three years. Through my years of experience I have developed many useful skills to outside of the world of education. I had the unique opportunity of working through the pandemic in a virtual environment while balancing an in person classroom. This experience taught me how to utilize the Canvas Learning Management System LMS and I would consider myself an expert at utilizing this resource. While working through the pandemic, I managed three nearly full online classes while continuing to teach in-person daily. This experience gave me the skills of communicating effectively through multiple platforms as well as how to utilize virtual resources. As an educator I have the vital skills of working effectively on a team as well as conflict resolution and de-escalation practices. My philosophy for every area of my life is that every person should be respected, and that in order to expect to receive respect a person must first show respect to others. This philosophy has allowed me to have very few verbal altercations or disciplinary actions with my students. 

My previous work experience at Advantage Therapy Solutions has taught me an exceptional amount as well. I worked in several different roles for nearly three years for a local growing business. I worked as and office administrator and inventory and supply manager. In these roles I completed many tasks and utilized many skills. I managed monthly product sales as well as ran daily and monthly batch reports. I utilized my mathematics abilities to ensure we continuously made a profit on any products I would purchase for the business. Within this position, I also managed our social media presence for a year. I would create eye catching graphics to promote product sales and manage our multiple social media platforms. In this position, I was also responsible for patient education upon speaking with potential patients about how our Light Therapy services could be beneficial to them.

I am currently enrolled at East Carolina University in a Master's program pursuing a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education.
