Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, and within established policies and procedures, performs scientific investigative research; participates in the design of' protocols and research directions and develops new procedures to carry out established research objectives; manages and analyzes data; performs statistical analyses; executes existing protocols and develops new methodologies to carry out established research objectives; researches literature in the field; writes manuscripts, presentations and grants in line with the research goals and based on the research performed.

Educational Requirements:
Experience/ Skills Required:
- Experience in the use of omics data to investigate disease mechanism and risk or similar skillsets with multidimensional data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well on a team of investigators (with Principal Investigator, Co-Investigators, Head Biostatistician, doctoral students)
- Ability to design and create tables and figures for presentation of data
- Ability to supervise students and doctoral students
Optional criteria:
- Proficiency in other statistical languages (Python, MATLAB, GraphPad).
Description of Role/ Responsibilities:
- Assisting the PI in tasks such as obtaining and managing omic data using cloudbased biorepositories
- Drafting study documents including paper proposals, revisions to paper proposals, manuscript drafts and critical revisions
- Coding and statistical analysis using multiomics (genomic, epigenomic/ DNA methylation, metabolomics) data on a cloudbased platform.
Data analysis tasks will include:
harmonization of data between datasets, data cleaning and analysis of patterns of missing data, time to event analyses, instrumental variable analyses, missing data imputation, network/ pathway analysis, risk prediction/ modelling.
- Creating tables and figures for presentation and publication
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Most duties are performed in an office environment. Any risk of exposure to contagious or noxious elements is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and protocols. Normal office environment. Requires standing, bending and sitting. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common office equipment.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Performs independently within department policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Ability to train and work with volunteers and students on projects.
