    The Associate Media Buyer is responsible for assisting with research, negotiation, and placement of prepared advertising content in effective and efficient media platforms both traditional and digital/interactive.

    The Associate Media Buyer collaborates with members of the Media Department and Accounts Department to ensure placement that best matches client goals and budget through carefully calculated plans built on research and analytical models.

    This position is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with media sales representatives, assisting with the creation and execution of media purchasing strategies.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategize the best use of media and timing/layering for all advertising media campaigns
    Assist with the creation of media proposals based upon strategies and budgets; modify as needed
    Recommend/make suggestions regarding use of media
    Assist with media placement of approved media proposals, accurately, and timely
    Ensure all media deadlines are accurately tracked in project management software
    Track/maintain/update client reports with uncompromised attention to accuracy
    Proactively develop knowledge of the media landscape
    Maintain accurate records, communicating with buying agency, internal partners across all networks, working directly with accounting and the buying agency on accruals, resolving discrepancies, recaps, inputting data and becoming conversant with media terms and systems
    Maintains positive relationships with internal and external media providers in order to stay current on new media and creative uses of traditional media
    Sets up department meetings, communicates with vendors
    Compiles campaign recaps
    Participate in client meetings and presentations
    Required Skills and Abilities

    Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines
    Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    Comfortable with face-to-face, phone, and email communication

    Strategic, creative thinker; problem solver

    Education and Experience

    A Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in communications, business, advertising, sales, marketing, or other related field
    Two years of experience in media planning/negotiations/purchasing
