Description

Perform entry level warehouse operations including one or more of the following: shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory control, cycle counting, or purchasing.


Day-to-Day Role:


  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Load or unload freight or product manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack
  • Move materials to appropriate storage space
  • Coordinate and schedule work for dock management, routing and sequencing of trailers or rail freight
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory control responsibilities
  • Prepare, process and distribute shipment documentation for all inbound and outbound services
  • Liaise with internal and external transport companies and departments to coordinate, prioritize and expedite incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Track and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Create, compile, and deliver required reports
  • Record, control, and monitor information in ERP or other computer systems
  • Prepare and pack goods for shipment
  • Verify, compare, and confirm type and quality of shipped or received goods against Bill of Lading, invoices, or pick tickets
  • Weigh, count, and inspect the state of incoming and outgoing products
  • Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken or unidentified packages to the supervisor
  • Assist in training new employees on warehouse procedures

Core Skills and Qualifications:


  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate jobrelated processes
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
  • Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math calculations and dimensional counting skills
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and ongoing communications about safety and quality issues

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


  • One (1) year prior warehouse or material handling experience preferred
  • Experience using ERP or other shipping and receiving software preferred
  • Prior SAP experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or highvolume warehouse environment, preferred
  • Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing and packaging industrial experience, preferred
