**Detective Investigator- Major Investigations Unit

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have at least ten (10) years of prior law enforcement experience.
- Have current NYS basic police academy certification approved by DCJS or the ability to

- Demonstrated success in complex criminal investigations.
- Experience in testifying in grand jury, trials, and court proceedings.

Preferred qualifications, skills, and education:
- Experience in the following areas:
- Conducting complex, long-term investigations in financial crimes.
- Participating in undercover operations, conducting surveillance operations, and
- Obtaining and executing arrest and search warrants.
- Effectively conducting and managing multiple investigations.
- Cultural competence to understand and effectively respond to cultural differences for the

- Established contacts within the law enforcement community in the greater New York City area.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- The Public Officer's Law requires that police officers at the OAG be citizens of the United States and

requires 24/7 availability. This position is in the exempt class, and incumbents serve at the pleasure of the
Attorney General. The Hire Rate for this position is $75,348. Appointments in this location receive an
additional $3,400 location pay.
