- Support small, interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams, often including external technology partners
- Perform System and Electrical Engineering roles in circuit design from early prototype work through limited production, including system and circuit levels of performance analysis, qualification, and testing
- Create System level functional and electrical circuit diagrams, models, and simulations
- Perform circuit designs for low noise, low power, high efficiency (battery powered) electronics with emphasis on quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance
- Perform circuit designs for high speed, high power switching power amplifiers and energy conversion / power supply circuits
- Lead and perform electronic CAD work including responsibilities for overseeing all phases of Schematic and PCB designs, directing BOM management and transfer to fabrication services
- Develop System level and inter-disciplinary requirements documents, including performance requirements, test and validation plans, and specifications
- Strong analytical skills, including analysis, simulation and prediction for complex
multidisciplinary systems - Strong skills and demonstrable experience in low noise and high power electronics, including high efficiency battery power supply and power management designs analog, mixed, and digital signal conditioning and processing
- Proficiency in analog and mixed circuit design skills required, including low noise small signal amplifiers, filters, signal conditioning and protection circuits, ADCs DACs, CODECs
- Expert level skills in Embedded hardware design with emphasis on low power microcontrollers, SOCs and CODECs
- Deep understanding of closed loop circuits and control systems
- Travel during field testing of deployed systems
- Embedded Firmware programming skills highly desirable and a big plus

ARL/Penn State's purpose is to develop innovative solutions to challenging national problems in support of the Navy, DoD, and Intel communities engineering and technology needs. Your will contribute to the design and deployment of Research and Development SONAR systems.
