Overview:

The Lakes of Clermont is conveniently located in the southern half of Lake County, within a mile of Orlando Health South Lake Hospital.

40 private and 20 semi-private suites will include individual bathrooms each with it's own shower. Enclosed, interior courtyards with water features will provide multiple locations for relaxing. For entertainment, a movie cinema on-site will provide residents with surround sound theater experiences. Personalized dining services will be provided by our trained culinary staff, including a registered dietitian.


Responsibilities:

RN Infection Control Specialist:


  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) strongly preferred_


The RN Infection Control Specialist, working with the Director of Nursing, is responsible for the development of performance improvement/patient safety initiatives and implementing and maintaining the multiple facets of an Infection Control Program.

This individual maintains a routine surveillance program of patients, staff, and the environmental problems that present a real or potential threat to the welfare of patients, visitors, or staff throughout our community.

They will promote a facility-wide understanding of the overall quality and patient safety program and culture.

Additional responsibilities of the Infection Control Specialist:

  • Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of written policies and procedures that govern day-to-day activities of Infection Control in the facility
  • Responsible for periodic evaluation and revision of policies and procedures and programs as needed to improve departmental functions and to ensure the departments are meeting the needs of the resident, their family, the facility, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure compliance with government and accrediting agency standards and regulations pertaining to Infection Control
  • Facilitate timely and effective resolution of patient care issues
  • Serve as a resource to all levels of the organization relative to infection control and quality improvement activities, conducting or providing education as requested by staff or leadership
  • Coordinate teams as needed to drive change towards desired outcomes using appropriate performance improvement methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed in our state
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) strongly preferred
  • At least oneyear experience in a longterm skilled nursing community
  • Nursing management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of state and federal rules and regulations that govern the practices of the facility
  • Able to relate positively and favorably to customers and families and to work cooperatively with others
  • We are a vaccinated care facility. New hires will need to provide proof of vaccination or other acceptable documents prior to starting employment
