DUTIES:
ANNUAL SALARY
$65,437 to $95,693 and $77,172 to $112,856
NOTE:
A Crime and Intelligence Analyst performs responsible crime related studies and compiles maps crime trends and patterns; disseminates information related to criminal activity; assists patrol, investigative, and administrative staff in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention, intervention, and suppression of criminal activities; supports all Los Angeles Police Department and neighboring law enforcement Crime Trend Details; may serve as a professional mentor; and performs related work.
REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Two years of fulltime paid professional experience in a class at the level of Management Assistant performing duties in researching, compiling, and analyzing crime trends and patterns in a law enforcement agency;
or: - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
and completion of a Certificate Program in Crime and Intelligence Analysis from an accredited college or university.

- For qualifying work experience gained outside of the City of Los Angeles, the term "professional experience" applies to positions that require possession of a degree from an accredited four-year college or university in order to obtain that position. Therefore, to be considered "professional," non-City qualifying experience must be gained in positions after obtaining a four-year degree.

- This examination is based on a validation study.
- Based on City policy, before being hired in one of these positions, you may be required to undergo a drug and alcoholscreening test.
- You may take this examination once every 365 calendar days. Your name may be removed from the eligible list after six months.
- A final score of 70% is required to be placed on the eligible list.
NOTICE:
If you receive and accept an offer of employment to a regular position with the City of Los Angeles, your employee benefit coverage (including health and dental coverage as well as life insurance) will commence approximately six weeks after your original regular appointment.
