We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a position in Durham, NC until August 31, 2023, for 39 hours per week as a parental leave replacement.

The Youth Migration Services (JMD) of IB provide individual support for young people with a migration background between the ages of 12 and 27, regardless of their residency status.

We assist them in their integration process and support them in their social, professional, and language orientation.

The Youth Migration Service is a nationwide program of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth.

This position is initially intended as a parental leave replacement, with the possibility of extension.

Your responsibilities with us will include:

  • Counseling and support for young people with a migration background as part of individual integration planning (case management)
  • Collaboration with other integration support facilities, schools, and counseling services
  • Communication with authorities and institutions
  • Networking
  • Documentation and reporting
  • Public relations, cooperation/committees, and networking as agreed upon

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree in social work, social pedagogy, or educational science
  • Foreign language skills (desirable)
  • Willingness to provide counseling in the following locations if needed: Velbert, Erkrath, Haan & Hilden (company car available
