The LWL Residential Community Dortmund is a facility within the health company LWL Psychiatric Association and provides care for around 220 people with intellectual, mental or multiple disabilities or addiction disorders in various residential and support services for integration assistance. The residential facilities are established at five community-integrated locations in Dortmund and Schwerte. Currently, the LWL Residential Community supports 45 clients through living with host families. Day-structuring offers complete the support. As a modern facility for people with disabilities, the LWL Residential Community Dortmund implements the guidelines of contemporary disability policy. This includes, in particular, the inclusion goals of the Disability Rights Convention. The development of further decentralized residential and support services will shape the future service profile of the facility.
