    Description

    Cathcart Rail, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is a leading freight rail services and transportation company. We employ nearly 1,000 employees in more than 100 locations in 33 states and operate the largest railcar services network in the industry, encompassing 18 large railcar repair facilities and more than 75 field services locations in addition to a rail services division that operates three short line railroads and a dozen contract switching and transloading sites.

    We are seeking a full cycle Field Services Recruiter to support our Field Services division who will take a strategic approach to sourcing through onboarding. Candidates will facilitate requisitions, advertise openings, review resumes, interview applicants, recommend viable candidates to hiring managers, draft offers, and coordinate the pre-employment and onboarding processes.

    We are seeking candidates who will serve as ambassadors for Cathcart Rail and create excitement about career opportunities with a growth-oriented organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Use Applicant tracking software to post and manage open positions
    • Maintain required direct labor headcount at assigned locations
    • Use variety of job boards and social media sources to generate and maintain a candidate pipeline
    • Screen applications for required skills in order to build candidate pipeline
    • Work with operations and site level leadership to understand required skill sets for employees in individual positions
    • Conduct phone interviews with candidates
    • Schedule interviews
    • Follow up with hiring decision maker after interviews to determine outcome
    • Draft and send offer letters to successful candidates
    • Order and see through to completion pre-employment screening including background checks, drug tests and physicals
    • Notify site level operations and HR when candidates are ready for onboarding
    • Coordinate with HR and new hire, start date including notification to appropriate safety and training managers
    • Provide HR/payroll a copy of the signed offer letter and copies of ID for onboarding, I-9/EVerify documentation; prior to start date.
    • Consult with Business Unit leadership to determine staffing priorities
    • Maintain timeline and accurate status updates in Paycom, Smartsheet and Peoplefacts
    • Report KPIs to Director of Recruiting on a weekly basis including applications, phone screens, interviews, offer and hires
    • Plan and execute interview/hiring events as needed per headcount needs by locations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications

    • Five years of full cycle, high volume recruiting experience
    • High school degree or equivalent; Associate's Degree and/or PHR certification preferred
    • Must be a strong self started with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
    • Must enjoy talking with people and building relationships
    • Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism
    • Ability to work non-standard hours to conduct job interviews
