Job Summary:


Assist CEO in managing all practices and activities in the Finance and Accounting functions to ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations.

Assist CEO in managing auditing, accounting, risk management, and recordkeeping activities of the credit union to ensure they meet generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP.) Make recommendations relating to budget preparation, income forecasts, and operational changes as needed.

Responsibilities:


Assist managing the financial and accounting functions of the credit union to include: Asset Liability Management (ALM), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), budgets, collections, General Ledger (GL), financial analysis, financial reporting and recordkeeping, investments, payroll, and taxes.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly reports for the board of directors and senior management.
  • Participate in determining deposit and loan rates.
  • Provide guidance regarding investment decisions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the Accounting/Finance Department.
  • Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services.
  • Assist with major purchasing decisions for capital equipment or other capital asset expenditures.
  • Develop, perform, and oversee various internal audit procedures, i.e. cash counts, teller drawer audits, review of employee accounts, loan documentation, wire transfers, etc.
  • Back up duties related to inhouse payroll procedures, such as entering payroll data, processing employee timecards, preparing journal entries. Monitor the payroll data for accuracy for each payroll.
  • Contributing to a positive work atmosphere of mutual respect.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of customer information.
  • Exercising good judgment and being alert to possible fraud.
  • Managing multiple tasks and responding to pressure and change with poise and confidence.
  • Responding positively to both peer and management feedback and coaching.
  • Collaborating to establish attainable sales goals and being fully accountable for achieving these.
  • Promoting CU for All at events in our community.
  • Fully utilizing the systems, tools, training, and resources provided to maximize potential.
  • Participate in staff meetings by keeping staff up to date on achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
  • May direct and supervise development, production, promotion, and sale of the credit union's products and services.
  • Assist in analysis of new branch site locations as the credit union grows.
  • Understanding and promoting credit union products and services.
  • Demonstrating the ability to independently make sound decisions based upon credit union policies, knowledge, and experience.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Enthusiastic individual that is detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Organization, time management, and problemsolving skills

$65, $75,000.00 per year
