About Us:


Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Metro (House) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and serves as a home-away-from-home for families dealing with the stress of having a child undergoing medical treatment at nearby hospitals.


Position Overview:

Title:
Part-time Housekeeper


Reports to:
Housekeeping Supervisor, Director of Operations

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


Responsibilities:

Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for families.

Collaborate with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Director of Operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness.


Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Capability to provide coverage during holidays and inclement weather.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


How to Apply:

Cleaning:

Guest Rooms:
Clean and make up guest rooms daily as appropriate.

Laundry:
Wash and fold laundry daily to ensure a constant supply of clean linens.

Garbage Management:
Empty kitchen and common area garbage daily, ensuring proper disposal.

Food Storage:
Organize and maintain food storage, disposing of old food and ensuring proper food storage practices.

Litter Control:
Remove any litter on the property daily to maintain a tidy outdoor environment.

Kitchen Maintenance:
Mop the kitchen floor daily and clean BBQ grills as needed during the summer.

Common Areas:
Dust, vacuum, and organize common living spaces daily.

Restrooms:
Clean and stock public and staff restrooms daily.

Inventory Management:
Conduct an inventory of House supplies as directed and refill guest cleaning supplies as needed.

Inspections:
Regularly inspect communal areas, public spaces, and guest rooms to ensure a high level of cleanliness and functionality.

Pantry and Linen Closets:
Maintain and stock pantry and linen closets as needed.


Guest Services:

Supply Stocking:
Ensure all supplies such as towels, shampoo, tissues, and sanitizer are fully stocked for resident families.

Checklists:
Adhere to a daily, weekly, and monthly checklist to ensure the cleanliness of all family and common areas.

Efficient Resource Use:
Use cleaning supplies efficiently to minimize waste.

Hazard Identification:
Proactively identify slipping and tripping hazards to maintain a safe environment.

The Housekeeper is an integral part of the guest services team, contributing to the overall positive experience of residents and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and safety within the House
