**Saint Peter's Purchasing Department** is seeking a **Buyer - Culinary & Nutrition Services** to join the team
A **Buyer** analyzes purchase requisitions/orders to ensure procurement of the most effective and cost-efficient product within time constraints. Meets with vendor and sales reps to evaluate product lines covered and to discuss new product lines available. Monitors computer information, gathers product data on special projects, and maintains accurate records, assists the Manager as requested. Cafeteria, Restaurant and Hospital Food Service experience is required.
**You need:**
High School diploma or equivalent, two (2) year Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
Excellent knowledge of hospital procurement procedure.
Strong interpersonal relationship skills required.
Computer skills, Excel spread sheets, Word, etc.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and short timelines for completion.
Cafeteria, Restaurant and Hospital Food Service experience is required.
**You will:**
Process purchase requisitions.
Explore procurement possibilities for each requisition.
Utilize the Materials Management computer system.
Generate and complete purchase orders.
Maintain communications with Accounts Payable.
Handle product discrepancies and act as a liaison between vendor and Medical Center personnel.
Act as a resource for product information and savings and assist Nursing with pricing on all equipment.
