    Description

    **Distribution Team Member I**

    San Antonio, TX, USA Req #1631 Tuesday, March 1, 2022 **Position Description/Responsibilities:**

    Inbound freight receiving; receive and unload product from trucks.

    Receiving, data entry and Material handling duties associated with receiving product, labeling, and moving to warehouse locations,

    Verify documents and counts and inspect for damage.

    Expedite transfer of materials from receiving area to stock areas.

    Communicate with appropriate personnel any potential shortages and backorders.

    Notification of inventory discrepancies to appropriate personnel.

    Pick, pack and ship customer orders following guidelines, procedures and policies as instructed by Team Lead.

    Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of the listed responsibilities and duties.

    Demonstrates good judgment in investigating and resolving problems.

    Always follows all safety procedures.

    **Position Authority:**

    This position has the authority to accept or reject materials, subassemblies, assemblies and processes that affect the quality and safety of products. This includes the authority to stop shipment if necessary to assure that nonconforming/adulterated products are not released for distribution.

    **Essential Functions:**

    Performs shipping and receiving activities, keeping records on incoming & outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment.

    Receive product and inspect pallets for quantity and damages; remove damaged product and validate all paperwork to the load (i.e., piece count, signatures, etc.); properly annotate discrepancies on freight bill or appropriate documents; utilize warehouse technology to verify and process receipts and create labels and other documents as required.

    Monitors incoming & outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.

    Provides assistance for on the job training of new employees and cross-training current employees.

    Participates and provides input for process improvement programs.

    Prepares required department records and reports.

    **Skills**

    Possesses written and oral communications skills sufficient to speak clearly and distinctly, write and read simple instructions in English.

    Performs expanded basic arithmetic calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals).

    **Requirements**

    Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous day-to-day activities of a primarily productive nature. (Lifting 60 lbs. /carrying 40 lbs.)

    Moderate lifting, carrying, bending, pushing/pulling, climbing and prolonged standing.

    Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and material.

    Requires the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

    Requires the ability to judge distance and space relationships (i.e. visualize objects of multiple dimensions).

    Ability to work in a well-lighted, climate controlled, warehouse setting with adequate ventilation.

    **Equipment Used:**

    Standard office equipment, computer, printer, and pallet jack, fork lift.

    **Qualifications:**

    High school education or equivalent.

    Minimum of one (1) year inventory control or shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
