    General Job Summary

    The Assistant Manager, Operations is responsible for overseeing overall store operations and driving the achievement of company goals and directives.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Customer Service
      • Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively.
      • Proactively assist customers with problem-solving.
      • Welcome and assist customers throughout their store visit.
      • Display a friendly and outgoing attitude towards customers and colleagues.
      • Handle customer inquiries and complaints efficiently.
      • Demonstrate excellent product knowledge.
    • Store Operations
      • Ensure a professional and safe work environment for all associates.
      • Supervise and manage overall store operations.
      • Responsible for opening and closing procedures.
      • Collaborate with Store Support Center programs implementation.
      • Ensure adherence to Loss Prevention and Safety protocols.
      • Collaborate with the management team on store operations.
      • Participate in management meetings.
      • Communicate issues to the appropriate departments at the Store Support Center.
      • Assist in district-wide projects as directed by the District Manager.
      • Implement new procedures for store operations.
      • Ensure store maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness.
      • Manage cashier functions and oversee cash processes.
      • Supervise maintenance and repairs to store assets.
      • Conduct competitor visits to stay informed.
      • Perform other assigned duties.
    • Inventory & Merchandising
      • Ensure safe and efficient forklift operations.
      • Oversee merchandise receiving and stocking.
      • Maintain back stock levels.
      • Conduct cycle counts and ensure accurate inventory.
      • Manage product inventory levels for store profitability.
      • Assist in merchandise resets and signage updates.
      • Maintain a clean sales floor and attractive displays.
    • Hiring & Training of Associates
      • Participate in associate training initiatives.
      • Support recruitment and advancement of associates.
      • Assist in hiring, training, and coaching cashiers.
    • Leadership
      • Oversee store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
      • Lead by example and foster a positive environment.
      • Engage in store meetings and share ideas with leadership.
      • Prepare for future growth and challenges.

    • Minimum Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications
      • High School diploma or equivalent.
      • Prior retail management experience, preferably in hardware.
      • Able to stand, walk, lift items, and climb as needed.

    • Compensation Details

      $20.00/hour
