Job Function

  • Supports assigned areas in strengthening/maintaining relationships with clients in all aspects of Commercial and Business Banking lending including, but not limited to, deposit gathering and retention, loan customer prospecting, loan production, overall customer retention, asset based loan monitoring, sale and servicing of participations.
Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain reports and assists/support all lending functions as it relates deposit gathering and retention, loan prospecting, loan production, maturities, past dues and renewals.
Assists with loan closings to include document review, working with closing attorneys to ensure accurate, timely closings.

Provides various periodic reporting to assigned management and lending team such as Pipeline, Past Dues, Maturities and Prospecting.


Assists with exception tracking and exception clearing as well as the tracking and support of branch and assigned lending related training.

Provides support in the collection and analysis of all reporting related to branch loans, deposits and profitability.

Assists with Asset Based Loan Management to include tracking borrowing base certificates, inventory, etc.


Serves as liaison for participation loans to include the intitial placement as well as ongoing assistance and support to assigned participants.

Work with Branch Managers to ensure reporting is accurate and timely

Monitors overdraft issues to ensure all accounts are handled as agreed


Maintains pipeline to ensure that all loans are listed accurately, closed timely and balance to monthly production reports and quarterly incentive reports.

Provides reporting to Regional President weekly as assigned.

Manages past due reports and works with lenders to monitor issues and ensure that collection of payments is timely.


Works with various branches to ensure that any commercial loan or deposit administrative issues or customer service issues are handled accurately and timely.

Performs loan portfolio management responsibilities to include the following:

  • Facilitates the preparation of credit underwriting and analysis of existing loans in connection with renewals and modifications. Assist in facilitating closing of transactions.
  • Assist lenders in managing past due and maturing loans.
  • Recommends and models appropriate loan structure for new and existing loan relationships
  • Receive and review periodic reporting provided by customers to ensure borrowing base availability as well as to monitor performance
  • Assists Lenders to ensure customers are being serviced as needed
  • Promotes and monitors customer relationship and growth
Prepares Annual Reviews on existing customers, to include but not limited to:

  • Detailed analysis of financial statements.
  • Detailed collateral analysis.
  • Detailed analysis of debt service and covenant compliance
  • Borrower and Guarantor analysis.
Ensures that all work is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.

Performs any and all other duties assigned.

Education and Related Experience

  • 35 years previous banking experience with a focus on loans and deposits, preferably in a financial institution, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business related discipline preferred.
Skills and Abilities

  • Good knowledge of commercial banking, particularly commercial lending preferred
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Must possess knowledge of computers and computer operations MS Office software.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy.
  • Must possess customer service skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, ten key adding machine, typewriter, fax machine, scanner and copy machine.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document.
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
