Overview:
Borneo is seeking a skilled, experienced, and hands-on Principal Engineer to drive innovation and contribute to our mission of transforming data security and privacy.
As the Principal Engineer, you will be a driving force in shaping the technical strategy and architecture for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps initiatives.
Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our technology ecosystem while providing leadership to a talented team of engineers.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Borneo's SRE and DevOps practices, setting high technical standards and guiding the team in their execution.
Architect, develop, and implement state-of-the-art security solutions and products to discover and protect sensitive data and privacy on public and private clouds.
Design and implement infrastructure to handle 16–20 petabytes of data at the moment and scale to 100–500 petabytes. Our services/products run on some of the biggest data footprints in the world.Understand product requirements and provide engineering RFC's, technical architecture and design documents.
Address challenges such as petabytes of low latency data processing and decision making, cloud native deployment, cost optimization techniques, real-time observability, protection of sensitive data and privacy, etc.
Establish best practices for monitoring, incident response, and reliability engineering, ensuring systems are available, performant, and resilient.Drive the utilization of cloud-native solutions and technologies to enhance agility and scalability.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the SRE and DevOps teams, inspiring engineers to explore novel solutions and technologies.
Define the long-term technical roadmap for SRE and DevOps, incorporating emerging trends and technologies to drive Borneo's technological evolution.Required Experience:
Proven track record of driving SRE and DevOps initiatives, with experience (8+ years) in a senior technical role.
Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, IAM, API Gateway.
Strong experience in one of the programming languages: Golang or Python.
Expertise in deployment of multi-cloud distributed SaaS in public or private clouds. (eg. AWS, Azure, GCP, Rackspace).
In-depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g. Spinnaker, Github)
Strong background in automation tools, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g. Terraform, Helm).
Extensive expertise in architecting, implementing, and monitoring of scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure solutions.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in a product startup is highly preferred.
Experience in cloud security, security engineering, network security in SaaS.
Preferred experience in Temporal for workflow management and orchestration.
