- Answering calls from patients looking to schedule appointments or to ask questions regarding their visits
- Checking patients into their appointments with their doctors and welcoming them into the waiting area
- Verifying patient demographics for their visit and logging their information into their profile
- Checking incoming faxed referrals and completing follow up tasks to process referrals
- Checking insurance portals for coverage and insuring prior authorizations are complete
- Processing patient insurance information and follow up based on insurance details received
- Scheduling follow up appointments and answering any additional questions patients may have
- Following strict HIPAA and hospital guidelines with the release of information
- 1 years' experience in a clerical role
- Strong computer skills is a must
- Comfortable working with patients in a hospital environment
- Experience using EPIC or EMR is preferred
