    Position Summary

    Coordinate telecommunication services for all City facilities to include upcoming City facility projects; communicate with various venders to ensure service and invoice resolution issues; charge, process and reconcile telecommunication billings for all departments and provide administrative support; perform a variety of administrative tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

    Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

    Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

    High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours of vocational or college-level coursework in business administration, or electrical technology; and

    Four (4) years of experience in telecommunication billing and services.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or ability to obtain by date of hire.

    Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
    Preferred Knowledge
    • Operations, services and activities of a telecommunication network program
    • Principals and practices of telecommunications and network protocol
    • Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting
    • Operations, services and activities of a customer service program
    • Modern office practices, procedures and equipment including a computer
    • Basic functions of budget preparation assistance
    • Principles of purchasing
    • Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations

    • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
    • Maintain a variety of financial records
    • Review and audit a variety of financial and accounting documents
    • Work independently in the absence of supervision
    • Operate and use modern office equipment including a computer
    • Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations
    • Communicate clearly and concisely
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
    • Perform the essential function of the job with or without reasonable accomodation
