- Triage patient calls
- Report and analyze patient data to identify issues, set goals, and develop patient-centered care plans with input from patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Assess the physical and mental health needs of diverse patient populations and communicate effectively using EMR for better decision-making.
- Develop and deliver education plans for patients and families with specific health education requirements.
- Participate in department emergency drills and nursing meetings.
- Identify patient support needs and ensure continuity of care through referrals and coordination.
- Assist with exams, procedures, and EMR documentation.
- Take and document accurate vital signs and measurements.
- Communicate with patients following clinic protocols.
- Prepare and operate equipment for healthcare activities.
- Manage inventory of supplies and medications effectively.
- Complete Annual Nursing Core Competency Training and Skills Fair.

Description
Position DescriptionEmployees in this role provide professional nursing care in a specific clinic specialty. They carry out various general and specialized nursing tasks as part of a holistic health care team to ensure patients receive thorough assessments. Responsibilities include supporting the head nurse, overseeing clinic staff, and occasionally stepping in for them when needed. They may also guide and train junior nursing staff, receive supervision from the head nurse or physician, work independently within set parameters, supervise ancillary nursing staff, and assist with personnel training. The work environment involves regular patient interaction, collaboration with families, clinic colleagues, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Education:
Graduation from a Board of Nursing accredited professional nursing program or completion within 120 days of application.
License/Certification:
Current Texas Registered Nursing license or temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice pending full licensure. New graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN on the first attempt.
Experience:
No prior experience necessary.

Fluency in Spanish and English
