- Basic Life Skills (BLS) from American Heart Association
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner's Certificate preferred
- Valid nursing license issued from Texas State Board of Nursing or compact
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing standards and practices in accordance with nursing scope and standards of practice (ANA, 2010)
- Adheres to forensic practices as guided by the International Association of Forensic Nurses
- Special interest in scientific and technical activities for understanding and responding to nursing problems and concepts
